Jervois Steak House Queenstown
Queenstown
The Jervois menu also offers vegetarian options and a range of non-steak dishes including free range South Island Lamb, Fiordland Venison, seafood and chicken dishes.
For foodies and carnivores Jervois Steak House is a must on your visit to Queenstown. In 2007, restauranteur Richard Sigley and Masterchef's Simon Gault set about with the intention of creating New Zealand's first authentic Steak House.
They trawled the United States and painstakingly researched what makes a great steak and brought back their wealth of knowledge to New Zealand. The result of this intensive research is a level of expertise and connoisseurship evident in the attention to detail; each cut of meat is treated and cooked in a specific way to enhance its individual characteristics.
Jervois also serves up a variety of non-steak dishes. Free range South Island Lamb and Fiordland Venison are tender and flavoursome dishes and in the vein of authentic American Steak Houses, Jervois also offers seafood, fish and chicken dishes.
This is a restaurant that takes its prime fare seriously; the meat is selected from the highest pedigree and is defined on the menu by breed and feed. Jervois also serves Blackmore Wagyu, a unique and exceptional quality beef which consistently attracts a marble score of 9 certified by AusMeat - the highest meat grading score.
At Jervois, all stages of the dining process are equally important. Exposed brick walls, timber floors, open fires and an industrial spiral staircase create modern décor which inspires and sets an earthy and warm ambience.
The intimate bar is a choice spot for a pre-dinner aperitif and again a comfortable place to relax after your meal with a coffee, cognac or port. On sunny afternoons diners can sip a cold beer at the leaner on the lower steps of Brecon Street.
The knowledgeable and friendly staff aim to give you a complete dining experience.
