Description
Cruise to Walter Peak High Country Farm across Lake Whakatipu on either the historic TSS Earnslaw steamship or the modern Spirit of Queenstown catamaran. Enjoy drinks and snacks from the onboard bar while admiring views over the lake’s tranquil waters.
At Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, savor a wood-fired BBQ buffet featuring salads, vegetables, and local meats cooked by the chef. The menu also includes a wide selection of desserts, fresh bread, and cheese. Overlooking the lake and alpine scenery, the colonial-style building and its grounds provide a relaxed dining setting.
The visit includes a family-friendly farm dog show demonstrating sheep-herding skills and opportunities to meet other farm animals. Time permitting, explore the lakeside gardens before returning to Queenstown by vessel.
Choose between two dining and cruise packages:
- Spirit of Queenstown (modern catamaran) - $159 per adult
- TSS Earnslaw (steamship) - $199 per adult, or $189 per adult on 7pm departures
Note: The TSS Earnslaw is closed for scheduled maintenance from May 18th to June 27th 2026. During this period, the Spirit of Queenstown is the available option.
