Description
The cruise begins at a scenic point with views of Mitre Peak, New Zealand’s most photographed mountain, and Sinbad Gully. This area is home to the kakapo, the world’s heaviest flightless parrot, rediscovered in 1948 after being thought extinct.
Travel past seal colonies and experience the spray from Fairy Falls as you cruise underneath it. Upon reaching the Tasman Sea, see Milford Sound’s hidden entrance, which Captain Cook missed twice during his explorations. On the return, pass beneath the larger Sterling Falls, where you can try a natural 'glacial facial'.
Nature guides provide local stories, information about flora and fauna, photography assistance, and other support. Around November, you may spot the rare Fiordland Crested Penguin.

- The main paid car park charges $10 per hour. It is about a 10-minute walk from the visitor terminal. Payment is card-only at on-site stations.
- Free parking is available at Deepwater Basin Road Car Park (turn left after Milford Sound Lodge), approximately a 30-40 minute walk to the visitor terminal. Allow enough time for this walk when planning your arrival.
- There is limited phone reception and no WiFi in Fiordland National Park.

- The cruise duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
