Directions to AJ Hackett Bungy - Kawarau Bridge Bungy
The world's first, and still the best, bungy jump site, at the Kawarau Bridge, outside Queenstown. Full visitor centre, with viewing platform, cafe, shop, plus the awesome bungy jump itself.
The madness all began with the opening of the Kawarau Bridge Bungy Centre in November, 1988. The Kawarau Bungy Centre is home to the original 43 metre Kawarau Bungy Jump. If you've heard of Bungy, you've heard of the Kawarau... it's where Bungy founders AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch started it all.
Choose tandem or solo jumps into the Kawarau River 43 metres below you. This is the only place in Queenstown you can do a tandem bungy jump, so ideal for beginners who'd prefer to jump with a friend. You can opt to either avoid getting wet, get fully immersed, or just dunk yourself gently into the froth of this fast-flowing river. They even let you jump naked, for a true, natural experience!
For the spectators the purpose built viewing decks provide a safe place to enjoy the beautiful scenery and experience the phenomenon that is Bungy without your feet leaving the ground.
The Zipride offers 3 zip lines operating up to speeds of 60kph alongside the Kawarau River. From single person up to 6 at once, the 130 metre zipride is suitable for all ages and a fun experience for families, tour groups and conference groups.
