Mitre Peak Cruises offer regular two-hour cruises around the devastatingly beautiful waters of Milford Sound, once described by Rudyard Kipling as the 'eighth Wonder of the World'.  You'll get to sail right out into the Tasman Sea, past St Anne's Lighthouse, then cruise back into the Sound and see it just as the first European visitors would have done four centuries ago.

Highlights along the cruise include the mighty Bowen Falls, the Sinbad Gully hanging valley, Mount Pembroke, and Mitre Peak itself, which stretches nearly 1700m from ocean floor to summit.  Look out for the wildlife in the waters, everything from Fiordland crested penguins, to Dusky dolphins, and the geological features all around you have to be seen to be believed.

The valley formed by the river and glacial erosion is spectacular in its uniqueness, like something from another world, with incredible rock formations, icefalls, and impossibly high mountains.

There are two boats in the Mitre Peak Cruises fleet, purpose-built for cruising across Milford Sound.  Each is 20 metres long and can comfortably accommodate small groups of passengers, guaranteeing a personal, intimate experience, helped by your friendly and informative guides.  There is free tea and coffee on board, and a fascinating commentary is included to ensure you get the most out of your Milford Sound experience.
