Cardrona Hotel

Cardrona Hotel is an iconic and much photographed building, situated in the Cardrona Valley between Wanaka and Queenstown.  The historic facade hides an award-winning restaurant, legendary beer garden and charming hotel rooms with an atmosphere second-to-none. 

Established in 1863, the hotel is one of New Zealand's oldest, and full of character with the local history displayed prominently in the bar and lounge area. 

The rear gardens are a secluded oasis and a place to relax.  There are plenty of tables to enjoy a cold beer and a spot of food along with a small playground that will help keep small children entertained.

The bar and restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is popular amongst hotel guests, locals and visitors alike.  The menu is focussed is on serving traditional pub favourites with a twist, using the freshest seasonal produce from the region.

Central Otago is home to some of New Zealand’s top artisan food producers and local produce is used wherever possible.  The wine list features top-quality drops from some of the region’s best wineries, with a selection of premier craft beers on tap.

During the winter season, the roaring log fires, both inside and outside are a welcome treat for skiers to enjoy a few drinks after a day on the slopes at the nearby Cardrona Ski Resort.

On the accommodation side, there are 17 rooms that reflect the period charm of the building, as well as two family friendly self contained villas.

Up to 250 guests can be hosted for a cocktail-style function, or up to 85 guests seated in the restaurant.  Whether you’re after drinks and canapés or a sit down meal, there is a range of food and beverage packages to suit any event.
