Make the most of the stunning scenery with a guided trip

Wanaka Bike Tours offers mountain biking options for all budgets and abilities, all year-round.  Experience some of Wanaka’s finest bike trails, from gentle lakeside trails to exhilarating backcountry singletrack.

Enjoy stunning scenery and varied terrain at your own pace with Bike & Shuttle, E-Bike Hire, or Mountain Bike Hire options.

Or, put yourself in the hands of one of the experienced guides to really make the most of the outstanding Wanaka scenery, or be adventurous with a heli bike trip.

Bike & Shuttle Self-Guided Tours:

All tours are self-paced and include bike hire and shuttle transport to the starting point.  Tours include:

Lake Hawea to Wanaka:  Cycle at your own pace along a 30km grade 2 trail from Lake Hawea along the Hawea and Clutha rivers back to Lake Wanaka. Gentle undulating river track with views of mountains and plains, rivers and lakes.  Stop for lunch or coffee on the way.  Suitable for riders of all abilities.

Lake Dunstan:  The Lake Dunstan cycleway from Clyde to Smiths Way is 55km, but most people choose to ride the shorter option between Cromwell and Clyde which is approximately 42km. The ride is stunning, with views of the Mountains, Lake Dunstan the Kawarau River, and the stunning Cromwell Gorge.   A more challenging ride, not suitable for beginners.

Shuttles from Wanaka to Cromwell and between Clyde and Cromwell are on hand for you and your bikes. Hiring an e-bike from the team is recommended for this ride.  If you have your own bikes and just need a lift give the team a call.

Ebike Brewery & Vineyard Ride - Visit Wanaka’s restaurants and breweries by e-bike on a self-guided bike tour.  This is the fun way to see Wanaka while enjoying some of the best food, wine, and beer in the region.  This 28km ride takes you from Wanaka around Eely point into Albert Town.  Along the ride enjoy the famous 'Hook' where you can catch and eat your own Salmon, visit a couple of breweries, before stopping at the beautiful Maude vineyard tasting rooms for an outstanding wine tasting platter and cheese board.

Guided Tours:

Make the most of your trip with help from a knowledgeable guide. Tour options include heli-biking trips and Big Mountain Tours where you can try e-biking one of NZ's highest mountain tracks.

Bike Rental:

Wanaka Bike Tours have one of the largest fleets of hardtail e-bikes in Wanaka.  They also have over 60 hardtail mountain bikes available to rent for single or multi-day missions.  Kids Bikes, Bike Trailers, Tag-Alongs and seats are also available for hire.

Wanaka Bike Tours provide shuttle services for riders in and around Wanaka, the Upper Clutha, and the Lakes District.
