Mountain Activities Biking Open during the summer, Cardrona Bike Park offers lift-accessed downhill mountain bike trails for all levels of riders, with experienced bike instructors to help you get in the zone.

Cardrona Bike Park is situated off the Cardrona Valley Road half-way between Wanaka and Queenstown.

Passes:

Lift passes on Cardrona’s extensive mountain bike trail network come in many different options.  Passes cover a whole day, a half-day, a late-night Friday or for the season.   During summer, kids 5 and under ride free!

Rentals:

Mountain bikes can be rented at Cardrona including free full-face helmet and knee/elbow pad rental.  As the on-mountain rental fleet is limited, it's recommended pre-booking rental bikes by calling 03 443 8880 or visiting the Wanaka town office at 50 Cardrona Valley Road.

Bike School:

Certified bike instructors are on hand to get the most out of your day in New Zealand's highest bike park.  The school also offer a trail guide option for intermediate and above riders who haven't been to Cardrona before. This 1-hour session is more about a mountain orientation; getting the inside scoop on trail conditions and getting to know entries, exits and spots to watch out for.  It's recommended to book all bike school lessons in advance.

Food:

Start or finish your day with a trip to the Lounge for barista coffee, snacks, lunch, and an alpine barbecue on late night Friday.
