Day 1: Christchurch–TranzAlpine Scenic Train–Arthur’s Pass National Park–Castle Hill–Lake Tekapo-Stargazing in Dark Sky Reserve
Be picked up from your accommodation in Christchurch. Board the TranzAlpine Scenic Train at Christchurch Station and admire the scenic views before disembarking at Arthur’s Pass Railway Station, where you will be picked up. Admire the views from the Otira Viaduct Lookout. Explore Arthur's Pass National Park with a walk along the Devil's Punchbowl Walking Track or the Arthur's Pass Walking Track. Visit Castle Hill and enjoy the photogenic landscape of stunning limestone rock formations featured in famous Hollywood movies. Take a break at Lake Lyndon on the way to Lake Tekapo. Check-in to your accommodation in Lake Tekapo. At night, grab the opportunity to engage in a stargazing activity in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, one of the biggest Dark Sky Reserves in the world.
Day 2: Lake Tekapo – Lake Pukaki – Aoraki Mount Cook (Hooker Valley Track & Tasman Glacier View Track) – Lindis Pass – Queenstown
Start another beautiful day with pickup from your hotel in Lake Tekapo. Visit the renowned 'Church of the Good Shepherd' in Lake Tekapo. Take a brief leisurely walk along the picturesque Lake Tekapo. Visit Lake Pukaki, a stunning glacier-fed alpine lake. Admire the highest mountain in the country, Aoraki Mount Cook. Either hike through rugged mountain terrain to soak up the area's wild beauty on the Hooker Valley Track and/or Tasman Glacier View Track or engage in other activities like a helicopter ride, depending on weather conditions. Pass through Lindis Pass on your way. Check-in to your accommodation in Queenstown.
Day 3: Queenstown – Milford Sound Cruise or Doubtful Sound Cruise – Te Anau
Start with pickup from your hotel in the morning. Choose between a journey to Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound, both set in the heart of Fiordland National Park. On the Milford route, enjoy scenic stops like Eglinton Flats, Mirror Lakes, Hollyford Valley Lookout, and Monkey Creek before cruising past towering peaks and cascading waterfalls. For Doubtful Sound, cruise across Lake Manapouri, travel over Wilmot Pass, and venture into a vast, untouched fiord surrounded by dramatic cliffs, hidden waterfalls, and rich wildlife. Enjoy return scenic drive to Te Anau.
Day 4: Te Anau – Te Anau Glowworm Caves – Queenstown
