Pog Mahones Irish Pub

It's often said that no town is complete without an Irish pub, and with a visit to Pog's you can easily see why.  Putting the veritable heart and soul into Queenstown's nightlife at its lakefront location, Pog Mahones is a lively, warm and friendly spot to sample a Guinness.

Other Irish favourites such as Kilkenny Irish Ale and Magners Cider populate the drinks menu, alongside Kiwi and international beers, wines and spirits.

A truly authentic Irish pub, the Kiwi and Irish owners had the pub designed and built in the Emerald Isle, before being shipped piece by piece over to New Zealand.  Its large lake-facing beer garden and upstairs balcony are a scenic delight in the warmer months whilst its cosy interior with blazing fires bring a welcome respite from the cold.

A pleasingly extensive food menu gives diners a variety of hearty, healthy and traditional dishes to choose from. Wood-fired pizzas and hearty mains along with the Pog Mahones signature dish of Stonegrill (cooked at your table).  Classic Irish fare such as Beef & Guinness Pie is a reliable winter warmer and the homemade soda bread will give diners a genuine taste of Ireland.

Live music is a regular feature at Pog's.  Local bands entertain pub-goers with popular music in their original styles while Celtic 'trad' sessions are guaranteed to get the feet tapping and create an upbeat atmosphere.

Function Room:

The upstairs Trinity Room with Balcony overlooking Lake Wakatipu is capable of hosting events seating up to 34 people and up to 60 for cocktail events.
