Directions to The Pig and Whistle Pub
'The Pig' as it is affectionately known by the locals, is an English-themed pub with a Kiwi heart. The interior pays homage to the traditional English pub with tankards, plates, nostalgic pictures, and other English pub memorabilia adorning the walls and shelves. The outdoor deck is a sun-drenched location with open-air dining available all year round. The deck overlooks Horne Creek where it is often possible to spot Brown Trout in spawning season and is a great place to relax or gather together with a big group of friends.
A pub wouldn't be a pub if it didn't love sports and The Pig and Whistle Pub is no exception. Major sporting events are shown on its five screens and the crowning glory is a huge pull-down projector for the really big games. 'Pub sports,' darts and pool are also available for patrons to play.
The Pig and Whistle Pub has 17 tap beers including New Zealand favourites such as Monteith's and the South Island's favourite, Speights alongside popular imported brands such as Guinness, Kilkenny, Boddingtons and Erdinger.
The menu offers English pub classics such as Bangers & Mash and hearty Kiwi dishes such as Lamb Shank as well as sharing platters, lunch specials and a range of coffees and desserts - all at affordable prices.
The Pub comes alive at night with live entertainment from Wednesday to Sunday. Live music, Karaoke and celebratory days such as St Patrick's Day pack out the The Pig's calendar; with so much going on, it's easy to see why The Pig's slogan is 'The More The Merrier'.
A mezzanine floor is suitable to host group celebrations from 20 to 120 people with a selection of function menus available to suit different budgets and event sizes.
Monday to Sunday -11:00 am - 3:00 am
