Running
This is the one-day trail adventure that captures the wild heart of Queenstown. From alpine ridgelines to glacial valleys, you’ll cover some of the region’s most iconic terrain.
Highlights
- Run two of Queenstown’s most scenic alpine routes - Ben Lomond & Moonlight
- 360° views across Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables
- Varied terrain: alpine ridge, farmland, and historic gold-mining valleys
- Packed lunch in a high-country setting
- Small-group adventure led by experienced local guides
Description
We’ll meet at the base of the Skyline Gondola, where your day begins with a scenic ride high above Lake Wakatipu to the alpine trailhead.
From there, the route climbs toward the Ben Lomond ridgeline, opening to sweeping views of the lake, the Remarkables, and Mt Aspiring in the distance.
You’ll follow high-country tracks through tussock slopes and gold-mining country before descending into Moonlight Valley, finishing near Arthur’s Point, where transport waits to take you back into town.
At roughly 17-20 km and around 1,500m of climbing, it’s a full-day challenge that balances effort and reward - relaxed pace, epic scenery, and everything taken care of the Traverse way.
