Description
Valli's Gibbston vineyard neighbours Kinross and produces some of the best Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris wines in the region. Founded by Grant Taylor, one of New Zealand's most awarded Pinot Noir winemakers, Valli is known for its four-time win of the Best Pinot Noir trophy at a major London wine competition.
An Otago native, Grant's winemaking career began 18 years before establishing Valli, working in Napa, California, and later becoming the first winemaker at Gibbston Valley Winery. Over the past 19 years, he has crafted wines for several iconic Otago wineries and now focuses exclusively on Valli alongside Head Winemaker Jen Parr.
Established in 1998, Valli aims to authentically represent Otago's subregions including Bendigo, Waitaki, Bannockburn, and Gibbston. Grant and Jen capture these areas with intensity and purity, pioneering the exploration of Otago's developing subregional terroirs. This wine experience offers an immersive introduction to Valli's distinctive wines.
