The Safari of the Scenes tour starts at 8am and covers locations west to Glenorchy and Paradise, then returns to Queenstown for lunch. The afternoon visits Arrowtown, the Gibbston Valley, and ends in Skippers Canyon.
Morning travel follows the edge of Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy, with many photo stops and short, easy walks on flat forest tracks in Mount Aspiring National Park. Roads are mixed seal and gravel.
The afternoon section involves rougher terrain, including river crossings. Stops include Gibbston Valley, Arrowtown, and the high, windy Skippers Canyon Road with dramatic scenery. Short walks are on well-maintained surfaces, and gold panning beside the river is on uneven ground.
