Discover Central Otago with Queenstown Wine Trail, Queenstown’s original wine tour company, established in 1992. With more than three decades of experience sharing our remarkable wine region, we know a great wine tour is about more than simply getting from one winery to the next.
Limited to just 8 guests, this premium full-day Central Otago wine tour offers a genuinely small-group experience, with time to relax, taste, learn and enjoy the journey.
Travel from Queenstown through 3 of Central Otago’s renowned wine sub-regions: Gibbston, Cromwell and Bannockburn, visiting 4 carefully selected boutique wineries and cellar doors along the way. All wine tastings and a delicious winery lunch are included.
Your day begins with a courtesy pickup from central Queenstown or selected accommodation. Then sit back and enjoy the journey into the heart of the Central Otago wine region with your WSET-qualified local Wine Guide.
Across the day, taste a range of outstanding Central Otago wines. The region is world-renowned for Pinot Noir, but you may also discover Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and other varieties that thrive in this remarkable cool-climate wine region.
Our winery itinerary varies from day to day, as many of Central Otago’s boutique cellar doors do not operate seven days a week. This allows our team to carefully plan each tour around the wineries available and showcase a great selection across the region.
With a maximum of only 8 guests, the experience remains relaxed, personal and unhurried. Your Wine Guide will share insights into Central Otago’s wines, vineyards, history and landscape, adding local knowledge and context to the wines you taste and places you visit.
During the day, relax over an included à la carte winery lunch, choosing from a selection of dishes while overlooking the beautiful Bannockburn Inlet and the surrounding Central Otago landscape.
There’s more to the journey than wine. Time and weather permitting, your day may also include scenic stops and a visit to historic Arrowtown or Old Cromwell, giving you another glimpse into the landscapes and stories of Central Otago.
After visiting 4 wine locations across 3 distinctive wine sub-regions, relax on the return journey to Queenstown, arriving at approximately 5pm.

- This wine tour is for guests aged 18 years and over. Please bring valid passport or photo ID as wineries may request proof of age.
Courtesy pickup and drop-off are available from central Queenstown and selected accommodation. Please provide your accommodation details when booking.
The winery itinerary varies depending on cellar door opening days and availability. Specific wineries cannot be guaranteed.
The tour visits 4 wine locations across Gibbston, Cromwell and Bannockburn, with all scheduled wine tastings and an à la carte winery lunch included.
Scenic stops and visits to Arrowtown or Old Cromwell are time and weather permitting.
