セント・オメール公園は、ワカティプ湖とリマーカブルズ山脈を眺めながら並行して走る絵のようなランドスケープの公園です。湖と山々の美しい景色が広がり、公園は散歩やピクニックに人気のスポットです。

この公園は、初期のクイーンズタウンの開拓者で市長のフランソワ・サンテ・オメールにちなんで名付けられました。サンテ・オメールとその息子フランクは、かつて荒れ地だった土地を涙の柳の木で彩る場所に変えました。

地元の薬剤師であるルイス・ホプトップと共に、彼らは現在クイーンズタウン中に見られる多くの木を植える責任を負いました。フランクは父親の死後も木を植え続け、その後、公園を議会に委ねました。
