ゴールドフィールドマイニングセンターは、クイーンズタウンへ向かう道に位置し、オタゴ地方の初期のゴールドマイナーたちの生活や厳しい労働条件についての洞察を提供しています。

見事なカワラウ峡谷のほとりに位置し、約25ヘクタールをカバーしており、多くの古い鉱山シャフトや採掘機器が今でも見ることができます。

訪問者はセンターの知識豊富なスタッフとのガイドツアーを選択することができます。ツアーには初期の鉱山やトンネル、金を探しに来た中国人鉱夫たちが住んでいた中国人村の跡地、そしてゴールドフィールズ鉱山の跡地が含まれます。

自己案内ツアーでは、訪問者は自分のペースで探索することができ、公園の地図が提供されます。訪問のハイライトは、現在でもサイトに存在する金を探すチャンスです。

ビジターセンターでは手作りの軽食やランチが提供され、小さなギャラリーでは地元の職人によって作られた金の宝飾品が販売されています。
