Our guide to the finding the best instagram shots in Queenstown

Queenstown is one of the most instagrammed, photgraphed and iconic places to visit in New Zealand. We've spent alot of time exploring and taking alot of photos throughout the Queenstown region. Given that most visitors don't have the time we do to seek out the best spots to take in the amazing scenery, we'd like to share, in our opinion, the best places to enjoy those 'wow' views and instagram pleasing shots.

The Top 7 Instagram Views In Queenstown:

1. Ben Lommond Summit

The journey up the Skyline Gondola serves up some pretty good views! However, once you reach the top, you need to take the track to the the Ben Lomond Saddle. It's a 6 hour return walk so be prepared! With views of Ben Lomond in front and Lake Wakatipu behind, there's a choice to make at the Saddle - continue to the Summit, or return. The more adventurous should continue to the Summit.

2. Glenorchy Loop Walk

The 45 minute drive to Glenorchy is truly spectacular. Once you arrive, head to the 'Glenorchy Walkway', a one hour loop walk. A boardwalk takes you over wetlands where you can take a seat and enjoy views of black swans and various birdlife with the backdrop of pristine mountain peaks.

3. Lower Shotover Bridge

Located 10 kilometres from Queenstown (off highway 6), the Old Lower Shotover Bridge was built in 1871 and offers eye-catching 360 panoramic views of the Shotover River.

4. Arrowtown River Trail

Head 30 minutes to Gibbston, park up close to Peregrine Winery and follow the Wentworth Loop Walk. The short walk offers stunning views of the Kawarau River on one side and world-class wineries on the other side. After the walk, enjoy sampling world-class wines  at the many cellar doors close by.

5. Queenstown Hill Walk

With a starting point close to the town centre, on Belfast Street, this 2 hour steep walk is a great way to see magnificent views of Lake Wakatipu, Coronet Peak, Lake Hayes and the Crown Range.

6. Jack's Point

A short drive heading out of Queenstown towards Kingston, take the right turn into Jack's Point Golf Course. From the clubshouse, take the track by the award winning golf course, over to amazing views of Lake Wakatipu. Behind you are the iconic 'Remarkables' which are often dotted with skydivers returning back to ground.

7. Moke Lake

The pretty lake setting is framed by mountains and is a popular spot for hiking, camping and cycling.
The Moke Lake Loop Track is a popular 2 hour scenic walk with the locals. Expect to take plenty of photos as you navigate around the lake.
