Heli Glenorchy is a locally owned and operated helicopter company providing flight experiences to customers from all over the world.  We’re also the only company permitted to land in the world famous Earnslaw Burn.

Located at the Glenorchy Airstrip on the doorstep of the Southern Alps, Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks, your journey will begin a 45-minute drive from Queenstown along the breathtaking shores of Lake Wakatipu - named 'one of the most beautiful drives in New Zealand'.

Scenic Flight Options:

Alpine Snow Landing (allow 25 minutes) - Discover some of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenery by air before touching down for a snow landing to enjoy panoramic views across Glenorchy.

Mt. Earnslaw Glacier (allow 40 - 70 minutes) - Discover Middle Earth on our flagship flight as we soar over a remote high-country station towards towering Mt Earnslaw.  Experience a close-range flyover of the breath-taking “hanging” Earnslaw Glacier before touching down in the lower basin to enjoy this incredible spot.  If one landing isn't enough, upgrade your flight and add on a second landing!

Earnslaw Burn Heli Hike (allow 3.5 - 4 hours) - The Earnslaw Burn with its hanging glacier and cascading waterfalls really is New Zealand’s best-kept secret, and our guided heli hike is the best way to experience it.

Glacier Landing (allow 40 minutes) - Explore hidden alpine lakes and cascading waterfalls as we head deep into the rugged glacial landscapes of Mount Aspiring National Park.  Look into the depths of plummeting ice-blue crevasses as we fly over some of the region's most spectacular glaciers before touching down for a one in a lifetime glacier landing.

Milford Sound Flyover (allow 50 minutes) - Experience the “Eighth Wonder of the World” by air. Fly over the magnificent fiord, carved by ancient glaciers, famous for its cascading waterfalls, unique wildlife and sheer cliffs.  This World Heritage Area is just a scenic flight over the Southern Alps from Glenorchy.

Milford Sound Landing (allow 1 hour, 30 minutes) - Fly across the Southern Alps discovering native beech forests, towering peaks, spectacular glaciers and hidden lakes before soaring above Mitre Peak and the famous waterfalls of Milford Sound.  Touch down on the edge of the fiord, where we’ll take a short stroll towards the towering Mitre Peak.

Milford Sound Heli-Cruise-Heli (allow 4 hours) - Our Heli-Cruise-Heli is the ultimate way to experience Milford Sound and Fiordland.  Enjoy spectacular aerial views as we fly from Glenorchy to Milford Sound before taking to the seas for a cruise across the world-famous fiord.  Before returning to Glenorchy, touch down for a snow landing on the Upper Humboldt Mountain Rage with breathtaking panoramic views of the Dart River and Lake Wakatipu.

West Coast Beaches and the Glaciers (allow 1 hour, 15 minutes) - Fly from towering mountains to rugged coast and experience the thrill of glacier flyover as we traverse the full length of Milford Sound to meet the Tasman Sea.  Land on a remote West Coast Beach and breathe in the fresh air before flying back towards Glenorchy to touch down on snow with breathtaking panoramic views overlooking Dart River and Lake Wakatipu.

Milford, Lakes and Sutherland Falls (allow 2 hours) - Experience the untouched paradise of Fiordland as we fly deep into the world-renowned national park.  Enjoy breathtaking views across Lake Erskine before flying over the Milford Track to New Zealand’s tallest waterfall, the towering Sutherland Falls.  Fly down Milford Sound and lose yourself in its ancient forests before landing on a remote west coast beach to breathe in the fresh sea air.  Taking off towards Glenorchy, you will fly over Mount Tutoko, the highest peak in Fiordland National Park, to land on the Humboldt Mountain Range with panoramic views across Glenorchy and Beyond.

Milford Track Guided Heli-Hike (allow 6 hours) - Take a scenic flight from Glenorchy to join a guide for a gentle 11km walk to the Giant Gate Falls on the Milford Track, a world famous “Great Walk”.  Return to Glenorchy via helicopter giving you the chance to see the incredible scenery of the Fiordland National Park from the air before a snow landing with breathtaking panoramic views of Dart River and Lake Wakatipu.
